Perfect Japanese balance and amazing sharpness. The handles are beautiful and very comfortable. Exactly what you'd expect from KAI/Kershaw. Be sure to check out the photos I uploaded to customer images.

Imagine slicing through a bagel with zero effort; no sawing, no smushing. That was me this morning using the 8" bread knife. My girlfriend watched as I "showed off". She said, "it looked like a magic trick, it was so effortless."

Besides this knife, I'd also recommend the Kershaw 7700 Series 9-Inch Slicing Knife. The 9" blade is awesome for roast beef and turkey. In fact, slicing up the holiday bird has never been easier. The increased length really makes a difference for smooth, long slicing.

If you have an opportunity to buy open stock 7700 series knives or a set, jump all over it. You'll never go back to a German blade again. :)
